on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the

NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING RUMNEY SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Rumney School Board will hold its public hearing on the 2025-2026 school district budget 

on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the 

Russell Elementary School 195 School Street Rumney, NH 03266

Rumney is an SB2 town.  “The Official Ballot Referendum form of town meeting, commonly known as SB2 (RSA 40:13), marks its eighteenth year of existence in 2015.  Approved by the legislature in 1995, adopted in thirty municipalities in 1996, and put into practice for the first time in 1997, SB2 is now in place in more than 60 New Hampshire towns.“  (www.nhmunicipal.org )

As an SB2 town, we hold a Deliberative Session on Weds., Feb. 5, 6:30 PM.  “The first session of an SB2 town’s annual meeting, known as the deliberative session, is where warrant articles may be discussed, debated, and amended, but not voted upon.”  We hold a second session, on Tues., March 11, 8 AM-7 PM, for voting.  During the second session, voting is conducted by written ballot; the voter has the power to say “yes” or “no” on articles, but not to alter them.

Please plan to attend the very important Deliberative Session on Weds., Feb 5, at 6:30 PM.

Rumney registered voters wishing to file for School Offices for the March 11, 2025 election must file a Declaration of Candidacy with the School Clerk

between January 22- January 31, 2025 for the following positions:

 School Board Member                                      3 year term

 School Moderator                                                1 year term

 School Treasurer                                              1 year term

 School Clerk                                                         1 year term
